Peter Fischli Cassette Tape

The artist Peter Fischli has made a series of limited edition cassette tapes for Giorno Poetry Systems. Each cover-sleeve is a unique linocut print, made by the artist, using a range of colors.

Peter Fischli selected dozens of mixes by the iconic Italian DJ Daniele Baldelli from the early 1980s. He then produced 11 unique cassette tapes, with different mixes on each one.

Individual tapes are available for $100, and the full set of 11 is available for $1,100.

Daniele Baldelli, a resident at the seminal club Baia Degli Angeli, near Rimini, and then at the legendary Cosmic, near Verona, is stuff of dance music legend—Italy’s equivalent to pioneering New York disco gods Francis Grasso, David Mancuso and Nicky Siano. He put soul, reggae, and muscular disco alongside samba, Kraftwerk, or Depeche Mode, spinning into African rhythms whilst triggering drum machines and samplers.
